FAQs

Do you offer in-person and virtual violin instruction?

Yes! I offer in-person, virtual, and hybrid options. Virtual instruction takes place via video conferencing. Virtual and hybrid lessons are a good option for families with busy schedules, transportation limitations, or students who don’t live nearby!

What ages and experience levels do you teach?

I teach students of all ages and levels—from beginners picking up the violin for the first time to advanced students preparing for auditions, competitions, or orchestral placement.

Do I need a violin before starting lessons?

It depends on the age and level, but students should typically have access to a properly sized violin before their first lesson. I’m happy to help guide you through the rental or purchase process to ensure the best fit and quality for you or your child.

How long are lessons?

Lesson lengths typically range from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the student’s age, level, and goals. I’m happy to help recommend an appropriate lesson length.

What teaching methods do you use?

I tailor my teaching approach to each student’s learning style and goals. I offer both Suzuki and traditional methods, often blending techniques to create a well-rounded, personalized, and engaging learning experience.

What is the Suzuki Method?

The Suzuki Method is a music education approach that helps children learn to play an instrument the same way they learn a language: through listening, repetition, and encouragement. It emphasizes early learning, parental involvement, and building strong musical foundations in a supportive environment.

Are virtual lessons effective for beginners?

Depending on the age: young beginners typically do best with in-person lessons.

Do you offer ensemble coachings, group lessons, etc.?

Yes! I offer ensemble lessons and coachings. I love working with groups and watching students work together!

Can I learn with my child?

Yes! I love to teach students and parents together. It is a great way to create a supportive learning environment.

How do I get started?
